2010 Calendar of events
- Summer Camp : Theme I've been working on the Railroad
The museum will offer two weeks of summer day camp this year. Hours are 9am - 1pm.
- Registration forms (Here in pdf form) are due July 6.
- Cost is $145 per camper with a $75 deposit due at registration
- Session 1 : June 21 - June 25
- Session 2 : July 12 - July 16
- Age groups from 4 - 10

- July 8 : 2nd Thursday preschool program
Tenatively this month's program will include a police car.
- Aug 7-8 : Trains, Trucks and Tractors
The museum will host visiting trucks, tractors and other vehicles to explore and learn about.

- Craft corner for kids to create a souvenir to take home

- The museum is looking to expand the number of visiting exhibits for this event. Registration to be an exhibitor is free and includes admission for 4.

The museum participated in the Touch a Truck day in downtown Kennesaw, GA. For more information, click here.
- March 28 Sunday
The museum hosted it's annual class room training session for the train crew. This class is mandantory for volunteers
wanting to be on the train crew. Class starts at 1;30PM. For more information, contact our train operations manager
- February 1 - March 27 : Photo exhibit and competion
- Categories and rules to be announced by Dec 11, 2009.

- Winners to be announced at during Caboose Days event, April 10, 2010

- April 1 : Museum resumes summer season schedule of Thursday- Saturday, 10am -5pm operation.
- April 8 : Second Thursdays at the museum premieres. The museum education department will offer a program each month on the second Thursday geared towards pre-school aged children.

- May 6 : Homeschool Open House - Get on board with homeschooling at the Southeastern Railway Museum.
The museum will be hosting an open house for homeschool families.
Homeschool families will enjoy a special admission price of $2 per person.
Children will enjoy doing crafts and a scavenger hunt and parents will learn about our new programs for homeschoolers.
Everyone will enjoy the caboose train ride!
Homeschool families must pre-register with the Museum Education Coordinator to enjoy the special admission price.

In the case of rain, the open house will take place on May 7th.

Members of our nations armed services, both active & retired, were invited to visit the museum free of charge.
- Renenactors of the Georgia 9th Artillery demonstrated cannon used during the Civil War
May : Teacher Appreciation Month - Teachers with will be admitted free with their employee id badge.
June 5-6 : Locomotive Celebration
The museum celebrates the collection of locomotives... Old and new and in particular the 100th birthday of Savannah & Atlanta #750.
This year's event will also include...
- Celebrate (Savannah & Atlanta) #750's 100th Birthday with Ice Cream and Cookies

N.R.H.S. Meetings:
Two Atlanta Chapter National Railway Historical Society (N.R.H.S.) meetings are scheduled each month. These are not just for chapter members - the general public is welcome.
- The Board of Directors meeting is held on the second Thursday of each month. These meetings start at 7:30 in the museum's audio/visual room in building #1. (Click here for directions to the museum)
- The chapter meeting is held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the museum. Meetings include a brief program and social time
